Sicky

Last night at dinner, my Josiah decided he was gonna be sick. Joshua (my 9 year old) comes running into the living room saying "Joe is gonna...letter after A, arf". Me, of course, forgetting all I'd learned in my code-breaking course, said "huh? what's going on?" So I ran in the bathroom to check on him. He thought he was gonna be sick, but wasn't, so we went on with dinner and sent him on to Grandma so we could have our Small Group Bible Study.

About 15 minutes into our study, we get a call, and Michael walks next door to my parents house. Then Josh comes running in, "Mom, Joe's sick. He's throwing up." Great! Good thing Daddy already went next door. So Michael comes back, without Josiah and says, "He feels fine and wants to stay." SOOOOO, about 45 mintues later, the phone rings again. This time, I get to go. Again, he wants to stay with Grandma...just wants Mommy when he's getting sick. Ok, whatever. So we finish our Bible Study (which had 5 couples at, praise God!) and when I go to get Josiah, HE'S SICK AGAIN! ALL NIGHT LONG!!!

All of that to say, I'm so glad Michael didn't have to work last night! He stayed up with him so I could sleep since I had to work today, and he can sleep this afternoon to prepare for work tonight.

For those of you concerned about Josiah, he's feeling better today. Still not quite up to par, but not sick sick, at least not at the moment ;)

Our upside-down world

Michael started working nights this week. Do you know that it stinks to sleep at home when you know your husband is working? And it stinks to be at work working when you know your husband is home sleeping? Michael says it's weird to have to be at work twice in a day...once at night at the beginning of his shift, and then once in the morning at the end of his shift. And the kids don't like it too much that Daddy's not there in the morning. He has to go next door to Grandma's (where they are) and kiss them when he gets home...he got in trouble for not doing that yesterday. :)

Anyways, please pray for this adjustment time for us. They were nice and switched his nights, so now he doesn't have to work Saturday nights and go straight to church dog-tired on Sunday, so that's a HUGE plus!

Camping with the fam

Last week, we went camping with our caravan group. Friday thru Sunday with 50 from our church, including our whole small group. We had a BLAST! We had all the tents circled around the campfire, with our motorhome, my mom's, and the director's completing the circle. We made smores on Saturday night...not such a good idea at night with a bunch of kids! The kids were tested on Bible memory and they all did pretty well, with the exception of one...my Micaela...she did AWESOME! She was the only one from our church to get 100% and she got a medal and everything! Boy was she excited!

After leaving the Round-up, we headed down to Campland on the Bay in San Diego. This is upperclass camping. There are complete hook-ups for the motorhome, parks for the kids to play in, a really nice market, an arcade, 2 pools with 2 jacuzzis, a restaurant, an ice cream parlor, and it sits right on the bay in beautiful San Diego, across from Sea World. The sites were too close for comfort if the place was totally packed, but since it was still slow, we were fine. We had a really nice time. Too bad we had to come home and get back to the real world.

O, and Mikey started at Disneyland on Saturday and is in training all week and so far likes it a lot. :)
